Frontline care providers now have access to the world’s first electronic health record-enabled Augmented Reality smartglasses solution.

PHILADELPHIA – May 8, 2023 | VEAAR, an Augmented Reality (AR) solutions leader in the digital healthcare space, announced that its CareView AR platform is now available in the Epic App Market Gallery.

CareView AR extends the reach of electronic health records (EHR) into the Augmented Reality space. The platform seamlessly presents patient information in AR through integration with the DigiLens Smartglasses product, without the need to use a workstation or the EHR for basic patient data access. CareView AR adds spatial and process awareness, guides caregivers through actions required, and focuses their attention on potential issues to prevent mistakes, streamline workflows, and support improved patient outcomes.

“CareView AR optimizes the systems and processes that are essential for busy physicians, nurses, caregivers, and case managers to get things done,” said Andrew Mitchell, CEO of VEAAR. “We’re proud to innovate a solution that inserts critical insights into workflows in real time, for a level of patient care that’s data enriched, more proactive, and drives continuous value.”

Epic App Market (formerly Epic App Orchard) is a marketplace of software add-ons for Epic users to achieve more seamless integration between third-party vendors (like VEAAR) and their EHR solutions stack. The platform operates as a catalog that assists medical practitioners, healthcare providers, healthcare institutions, and patients to discover, understand, and assess medical apps and find the right fit for treatment needs. Key benefits of Epic App Market availability for CareView AR include:

  • Simplified integration that reduces resources required to add CareView AR to care providers’ solutions stack;
  • Seamless, embedded experience that simplifies workflows and drives greater efficiency;
  • Built-in best practices supported via automated packages and technical guides that provide standardized implementation templates for activities.

“We understand the important role Epic plays in allowing healthcare providers to deliver high quality care,” said Mr. Mitchell. “We’re excited to partner with them to lead an AR revolution that is driving major breakthroughs in hospitals’ efficiency of operations and quality of patient care.”

VEAAR is currently exploring making CareView AR available to healthcare providers using Oracle’s Cerner and MEDITECH’s EHR solutions, in continued support of the company’s strategic goals for expanding access to its industry-leading AR tools.
